What is MPSI?

The Movable Property Security Interest Act XXXX or MPSI in short, refers to a legal framework in Malaysia that regulates the creation, registration, and enforcement of security interests for movable property which are used as collateral to obtain financing. In order to facilitate registration under the Bill, a registry is also established and made available for access by the general public 24/7 everyday. The registry's main objective is to maintain a register on information related to registration on the security interest. This registry will record registration by notice in a form of a financing statement with minimal essential information provided from the secured parties on security interest from either incorporated or unincorporated entities as well as individual debtors.
