Registration under the framework can either be by way of a pre-registration or registration of a Financing Statement.

Pre-Registration - The pre-registration concept serves as notification to the public that negotiations to finalise the financing on a particular movable property is still underway. Although pre-registration is searchable, it does not constitute a Financing Statement registration.

Registration of Financing Statement - Involves the procedure of entering required information into the registry. To ensure that the registration is protected under MPSI, the registration must be completed with necessary input for all the mandatory field.
